Things have been even busier here these last few weeks and it has nothing to due with COVID. I am drowning in the work needed to keep so many balls in the air that, I have had to drop a few. This is why my Monday blog post didn’t go up and the Mom Wisdom Wednesdays post either.
My book Not A Picture Perfect Parent was set to release the second week of May. Unfortunately, that date has now been pushed back to mid-summer. This was a hard decision to make but ultimately, my team and I feel this is the best move.
I’ve had to cancel my book release events due to COVID and we feel that launching my first book with no launch parties and in person events would not be a wise business move. This extra time will allow me to fine tune a few areas and add in a few chapters that I cut during my first round of edits.
“In many ways, this was an extraordinary book—I’ve worked on dozens of parenting books and memoirs and never read anything quite like this one. In writing a book about parenting fails, you were radically honest and wrote about things that are never really talked about, but all parents know.”
Quote from my editorial letter after a thorough review of my work.
Everyone who has sampled and read through my worked has loved it. Even the agents I submitted my work to have loved it however, they felt that I didn’t have a large enough platform to launch a book and make it profitable for them. I get it, it’s a game of numbers.
“Betsy’s raw honesty and her style of writing had me feel as if I was right there with her through every moment. I cried, laughed and gasped aloud at the sudden shock of events described in her book, Not a Picture Perfect Parent. This book made me feel like a stronger more confident mother because we all make mistakes, but we do not often share those mistakes like Betsy does.”
Quote from a proofreader.
I ask you friends if you like my blog and my book please share my posts, follow me on Instagram and on Facebook and like my page, it will help immensely. This is my first book, but it will not be the last, I have a few more up my sleeve that I am preparing for you!
As we emerge from our houses in a few weeks after the quarantine has been lifted my book will be emerging alongside you as a companion to help you navigate your way through this imperfect life, because it really does take a village!
Not A Picture Perfect Parent, is real, raw, vulnerable and at times quite embarrassing, but I am going to share it all with you very soon.
It’s killing me to hold back this book from you, but I can promise you that the wait will be worth it.
