Quarantine Lift

Rumor has it that Mike DeWine, Ohio’s governor, will be lifting part of the Quarantine on May 1st, permitting people shop and dine with some restrictions this is phase 1 of getting back to normal. I have no idea if this is true, so don’t quote me but God knows how bad our economy needs this. It has certainly been strange to see so many states handle this so differently, I think Ohio has handled this well.

So many businesses have been affected by the shelter in place order, from small one person run businesses to large corporations. Big or small the impact will be felt worldwide.

People like to give large corporations a hard time because they make millions, maybe even billions. This also means that right now they are losing big too. The bigger the business, the bigger their overhead and the more you make the more you have come accustomed to spending

There is no need to be a hater and play the comparison game on who this will be worse for.The truth is, that most of us will feel the impact in some way. There will be businesses that will not recover, dreams shattered, and doors locked for good. My heart break for them.

Proceed with caution.

When you do finally emerge from your house again, I urge you to think twice if you choose to talk about money problems with friends. There’s no real way to know if this is hitting them hard, they may be too embarrassed to admit the terrifying reality of their financial position.

There are a lot of government handouts and programs to help get back on track, but the trick is finding them AND not everyone is eligible.

Be gentle and kind.

The world is going to be fragile for awhile, the virus has not been eradicated, it’s still there. looming around every corner just waiting for the perfect host to infiltrate. If you look at the way this virus acts and spreads, you gotta give it credit, it’s a smart little sucker! This virus is just out there looking for a host, trying to live its best life! I say this not to scare you, but to remind you the threat of this virus is still there, it has not gone away.

Front line warriors.

A nurse that my friend works with has been on the front lines fighting COVID and was just admitted after two weeks with a fever, diarrhea and a negative COVID test. Her oxygen saturation was at 80% upon arrival she had COVID!

These next few months are going to be hard emotionally, financially and physically. As humans we are social creatures, we biologically seek out groups to feel safe and protected. These groups can also be our downfall, quickly spreading disease and viruses.

Lucky for us technology has provided the means of feeling connected at a safe distance. I urge you to continue utilizing these methods of communication even when the ban is lifted.

Moving forward.

There are so many uncertainties in our future, but one thing we do know is that our quick action against COVID has helped to flatten the curve.

I know its hard friends, hang in there.
